A twist on a traditional Amish pattern that consists of a hand-quilted eight-point star in the center with more intricate hand-quilting surrounding it. At the bottom border, the quilter has stitched her initials and the year this piece was made.
The use of solid colors in quilting has been a signature of the Amish and Old Order Mennonite communities of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania since the 1800’s.
