Description
This quilt features compasses of different shapes and sizes. The background represents the changing seasons in a counter-clockwise fashion by using a variety of Civil War reproduction fabrics: yellows and browns for Summer, reds for Autumn, blues for Winter, and greens for Spring. The backing features tiny blue flowers on a white background.
Measurements:
King (111″ W x 112″ L)
A regular king mattress is 76″ wide and 80″ long, therefore this quilt would have a 17.5″ drop on each side.
A California king mattress is 72″ wide and 84″ long, therefore this quilt would have a 19.5″ drop on each side.
All quilts are long enough to allow for a significant drop at the foot of the bed as well as a nice pillow tuck so there is no need for shams.
About This Pattern:
This is an original design that features the Irish Chain and various Compasses. Mabel has won awards for this unique design at quilt shows in the past. It was inspired by the time she spent at the Susquehanna River when she was a young girl.
