Quilt Shop History

The History of The Quilt Shop at Miller’s

Our History

The Quilt Shop at Miller’s first opened its doors on June 22, 1998. Store manager, Annette Nauman, was inspired by her late grandmother who was a hand-quilter. Annette began by knocking on the doors of local Amish and Mennonite families, inquiring about anyone who would be interested in selling their quilts at a new store. It took time to develop the trusting relationships needed to run a business based on such hard work and craftsmanship, but Annette proved that she could offer a safe and loving space to sell these artists’ handmade quilts. Over the years, her business grew until she had over 30 consigners contributing to the store.

The Quilt Shop Today

Today, The Quilt Shop at Miller’s specializes in selling hundreds of hand-stitched quilts crafted by Amish, Mennonite, and local artisans of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The store offers 3,500 square feet of retail space with hundreds of high-quality handmade quilts, all varying in design and size.

Our hand-quilted items include wall-hangings, lap quilts, baby quilts, twin, double, queen, and king-sized bed quilts. We also sell a wide variety of handmade goods, such as quillows, potholders, aprons, dolls, table runners, pin cushions, stuffed animals, bonnets, and so much more!

Our staff is knowledgeable about the craftsmanship that goes into handmade quilts. We have personal relationships with every one of our consigners and can tell you who made each item in our store. It is our goal to maintain relationships with the Amish & Mennonite communities of Lancaster County, PA, and above all, to keep the art of hand-quilting alive!
