Description
This traditional Log Cabin pattern features a framed portrait of a buck and doe in the center. Contrasting light and dark fabrics create diamond shapes in half of the log cabin square. The warm and cool earth-tone color pallet matches the central panel. The backing is a sponge-style print in shades of gray. This is an Amish-created, hand-stitched quilt.
About This Pattern:
The Log Cabin quilt pattern dates back to when Abraham Lincoln was running for office. Despite being prohibited from voting during this era, women expressed their support for Lincoln by creating the log cabin quilt pattern. During the time of the Underground Railroad, a log cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home indicated a safe house.

Our shop is a partnership with Amish, Mennonite, and other local artisans. We do not dictate what they make but receive what they bring into us. A regular king mattress measures 76″ wide and 80″ long, so this quilt would have a 20″ drop on each side.
A California king mattress measures 72″ wide and 84″ long, so this quilt would have a 22″ drop on each side.
All quilts are long enough for a significant drop at the foot and a nice pillow tuck at the top, eliminating the need for pillow shams.
