- Originally known as the Double Wedding Ring, this traditional Amish quilt pattern symbolizes marriage. In Amish culture, where couples don’t exchange jewelry or rings on their wedding day, family members from both sides come together to create a wedding ring quilt as a special gift. The interlocking rings represent two families joining together through holy matrimony.
